Inspired by Matt Parker and Vicki Pipe's video, this page will allow multiple people to play Scrabble over a video call, each using their own board, but sharing a single bag of tiles.
To play, one player should open this page and generate a seed. These two words will synchronise the virtual bag of tiles between everyone. The other players will then need to open this page and enter the two seed words. The third 'check' word should match between everyone if no one's made a spelling mistake.
Each player should lay out all the tiles from their set so they can see them. To draw their initial seven letters, players can take turns pressing their green 'Draw' button. When each player does this, all other players should press their red 'Discard' button to remove those seven letters from their virtual bag. Once drawn, each player can place their physical tiles in their rack.
While playing, players can draw the appropriate number of tiles according to the standard rules, however whenever any player draws, every other player must discard the same number of tiles by pressing their 'Discard' button. The number of remaining tiles should always match between all players throughout the game.
At this stage, returning tiles to the bag is not possible, and trust of the other players is required! Addressing either of these would likely require server-side code. As it is now, this site doesn't even require an internet connection after being loaded, though of course your video call will!
